Ellen Porter Honnet, Ed.D.
is a Cambridge-based psychologist who grew up overseas. Her interests include the impact of transitions, adolescent sexuality, service-learning and listening skills. She trained at Harvard and Wellesley College Counseling Centers. As a dean living amongst first year students and in the houses, she also served as the Asst. Dean for Co-education and the Sexual Harassment Hearing Officer at Harvard College.

Janet Sand, Ph.D.
is a psychologist in independent practice in Cambridge, MA. She was a staff psychologist at the Harvard University Mental Health Center for decades, retiring as Chief Psychologist. In her long tenure with the Stanley King Institute, she has seen the societal changes affecting teachers, families, and students. With the worry that there is not enough for all leading to an steady increase in anxiety and depression in achievement-oriented students and families and the schools that serve them, Janet is interested in the centrality and power of the teacher-student relationship.
