Paryushana (Jainism)
Tell a Friend About This EventTell a Friend

Paryushana, one of the most important Jain festivals, lasts for 8-10 days. Traditionally, wandering monks would slow down and stay in one place during the rainy season. Jains mirror this monastic practice by slowing down, fasting, reflecting and repenting. The last day of Paryushana is focused on confession and asking for forgiveness for offenses they might have committed, consciously or unconsciously.
