How can we best include, and support, international students in school life and mission? Join us for one, two, or all three presentations.

 

Session One: Recruiting Students and Homestays 

October 2nd, 4pm EST / 1pm PST

This online course will explore:

- What is the right student for our school?

- What are we trying to achieve?

- Agency or no Agency?

- International parent relationships

- How to find your homestay families

- What makes a homestay family a good option?

- How to deal with cultural differences in homestays

 

Session Two: Student Arrival and Orientation for Student 

January 15th, 4pm EST / 1pm PST

- Preparing a meaningful package for new students
- Forms required for arrival and school start
- How to prepare an orientation
- What should be included in your orientation?
- How to prepare your students for the homestay
- How to prepare your homestay for the student

 

Session Three: Homestays and Management of Students and Families

March 9th, 4pm EST / 1pm PST

- What type of regulations do you have in place for students?
- What type of regulations do you have in place for homestays?
- How to you coordinate travel?
- How do you regulate testing and test prep classes for students?
- How is communication and involvement of the natural family managed?

Online Course Format

CSEE online courses are done on Zoom, and include a mix of presentation and group discussion. Participants with computer cameras can share their faces if they wish to enhance the personal experience. A few days out from the event, CSEE will send the link to log into the meeting.
