What is a Virtual Event?

CSEE's online courses provide expert speakers and the ability to discuss important topics real-time with colleagues around the country. Courses are done on Zoom, with a mix of video presentation, slides, and small group discussions.

 

About Tech Mindfulness Course

This is a series of three courses, each exploring Technology Mindfulness for different age-levels. Sign up for one course or all three.The lower school session is two hours long and the middle and upper school sessions are each three hours long.



First Session: PreK - Grade 4

March 11, 2019

Program Description

Our youngest to oldest generations use and love technology but what happens when the technology creates stress and anxiety? Through this interactive online professional development session, educators will learn about and how to apply principles of mindfulness to technology. Learn some tools and put ideas to action!


This professional development opportunity is for educators and parents to gain the resources, strategies, and knowledge to help their school communities become technologically-mindful. If you’re a Pre-K-12 educator or administrator, join us in March for a real-time virtual session on Technology Mindfulness. If you’re a parent, you’ll have access to a webinar on Technology Mindfulness which you may watch at your convenience. Join us to learn more about creating balance in an increasingly addictive digital world.

- Mindfulness and Global Trends - 1 Hour
- Creating a Technologically-Mindful Community and Culture - 1.5 Hours

Presenters

 

Urvi Morrison

Urvi is an experienced educator, lifelong learner and the CEO/Founder of SET and SET Lab. She has worked as a Director of EdTech & Innovation, Middle School teacher, as well as an all-school Technology Teaching and Learning Coordinator. She holds degrees in Biology, Education, and Educational Technology. She is passionate about edtech, robotics, andragogy, and learning through constructionism. Her work alongside teachers, staff, administrators and students of all ages in education and educational technology has given her the expertise in educational innovation to help schools progress with the values of today’s world within their mission and vision. Julia Ewart


Julia is an experienced educator who has been working in educational technology for the last 8 years. She works with all types of educators and inspires them to be innovative in their teaching approaches and curricular design. Julia studied Psychology at the University of Maryland while also earning certificates in Life Sciences, Special Education, and Human Development. Additionally, she holds a MS in Instructional Technology from Towson University with a concentration in School Library Media.
