Target Audience

This event is for faculty and students engaged with school's Honor Council / Academic Integrity work at the middle and upper school levels.

About

Join facilitator Christy Fairman and independent school faculty and students from around North America to explore case studies, hear from school groups sharing facets of their academic integrity programs, enjoy small group discussions, and learn from our keynote speaker, Dr. Jessica Koehler. This event is also a great orientation for students who are new to an honor council. School teams comprised of faculty and students, and individual faculty are welcome!

Keynote: The Power of Integrity: Cultivating Well-Being by Living in Alignment with Core Values

Dr. Koehler will explore the essential role of integrity in fostering personal well-being and academic success. She will emphasize the importance of aligning actions with core values, demonstrating how integrity is fundamental to building overall, lifelong happiness. Dr. Koehler will also highlight the significance of academic integrity in achieving long-term success, while offering practical strategies for fostering a culture of integrity within educational environments. By the end of the presentation, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how integrity shapes their lives and will be equipped with actionable strategies to nurture integrity in both professional and personal contexts.

Testimonies

What past participants have to say about this event:

"I thought the pace was just about perfect. The conference kept moving but didn't feel rushed. I had plenty of time to ask questions of the whole group and in social circles during meals. Just hearing what other schools are thinking about, struggling with, falling on swords for, and hoping to change was both enlightening and reassuring."

"I was always thinking of 'when I get back I am...' thoughts after hearing the information. I appreciated the time to chat with other schools and hear how things are being done."

"I liked everything from the 'here's how we do it' presentations to the thought-provoking case studies. It helped me understand where my school fits in the continuum of honor policies and practices and gave me ideas to bring back."

"I loved that the conference put students and teachers learning together in the same room, and would attend again!"
