Sue Knight
Membership Outreach

Sue graduated from CSEE member school, George School, in 1981 and then earned her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Yale in 1985. She taught physics and math at CSEE member school, Oregon Episcopal School, for 12 years, and general studies and science at Portland Jewish Academy for two years. During that span she also volunteered in a number of public school programs, and currently volunteers at her neighborhood public high school where she's immersed in hands-on applications of CSEE's outstanding character development work. While serving as a member liaison for CSEE, she's also developing its classroom-use podcasts to provoke values discussions in high schools.

John Roberts
Newsletter Editor

John Roberts has been associated with CSEE since the last century, and at present edits "Connections" and serves as honor systems consultant (facilitating the annual conferences and offering individual school consultations). He earned his Ph.D. from Tulane; his teaching career ranged from four universities to an independent school, The Westminster Schools in Atlanta. A prolific author, John's by-line has appeared on articles, reviews, encyclopedia entries, and books, including CSEE's 2007 "A Handbook for Developing and Sustaining Honor Systems." Retirement from teaching last year is giving John more leisure for his several hobbies: reading, chess, woodworking, gardening, travel, the speakers bureau of his Episcopal diocese, and crafting plays and a novel. John is supervised by his wife Nedra, daughter Glynnis, and son Jeff.

Beth Sandlin
Business Manager

Beth has been with CSEE since 1997. Dubbed the "institutional memory" by her co-worker John Roberts, she keeps a sharp eye on the finances. A native of South Carolina, she has a BS in Business Administration from the College of Charleston. Prior to joining CSEE, she spent 10 years working as a Business Manager for Architectural and Engineering firms. She lives in Atlanta with her husband Darrell and daughter Annie Mac, and enjoys tennis and home renovation projects. Her most recent volunteer efforts have been working with the Girl Scouts and her local PTA, including her current endeavor as a founding board member of Junior Gladiator Volleyball, encouraging young women to participate in high school athletics.
