Summary: Our culture is obsessed with pleasure. We forget that the kind of happiness pleasure brings is temporary, not the fuller happiness our deeper selves yearn for. This exercise aims to help participants understand the differences between kinds of happiness.

The Exercise

Make a list of 10 things, activities, or experiences that make you happy.

On a scale of 1-10, rate how happy each makes you.

On a scale of 1-10, how long does the happiness for that item last?

Follow this exercise with individual reflection and discussion:
