Creating an Elementary School Spiritual Climate
Webinar
Wednesday, March 10, 3:30pm - 5pm EST
This webinar will be held live from 3:30 - 5:00pm on March 10th. Those participants unable to make this time will be provided with a link to the recorded webinar for later viewing. The link will be provided one day after the completion of the session, and for up to 3 months after the taping.
The first part of this presentation will focus on areas of spiritual growth that CSEE educators have defined as being important to the lives and development of elementary school children, and on identifying and setting goals for addressing these areas in a way that is both appropriate and relevant to your school's mission.
In the second part of the presentation Catherine Powell will outline a series of specific, time-tested suggestions for early and later elementary school children to help facilitate and nurture spiritual growth.
Note: the material in the early part of this presentation will be presented in greater detail in the middle and upper school spiritual climate webinar scheduled for February 17. Participants wishing to participate in both events may do so at a significantly reduced price but checking the box for "both events."
About the Presenters
David Streight spent two decades as a teacher of religions and ethics in the independent school world. He was the convener of CSEE's interfaith Pathmaps team, charged with developing activities for spiritual development in schools, and has wide experience visiting and working with schools with a number of different religious and denominational affiliations. David is the host for CSEE's yearly institutes on teaching the world's religions, and served for three years as host for the teacher section of the Religion and Ethics Newsweekly website. These two instruments will both be discussed and made available to participants in this event.
