Honor Codes Workshop

Developing and Fine-Tuning Honor Codes and Councils

Louise S. McGehee School, New Orleans, LA
Friday, February 6th, 4:30pm - Sunday, February 8th, noon

Join Dr. John Roberts (CSEE Connections editor and Honor Code consultant) for a thorough look at implementing and evaluating honor codes in independent schools.
-
This workshop---open to CSEE member schools only-- will look at how honor codes are implemented and
evaluated. Plenary sessions will alternate with breakout-group sessions. Teams are comprised of teachers and students.

Questions under consideration will include:

- How can schools teach integrity and character formation as well as
academics and athletics?
- How can honor codes assist schools in fulfilling their missions?
- Where did honor codes come from?
- What kinds of honor systems are currently being used?
- How can existing honor codes be revitalized, or new honor codes be
implemented?
- What are the nuts and bolts of handling an honor case?
Time is built into the schedule for socializing, networking, and two
videos.
Schools are encouraged to send teams, if possible (e.g., three
students and one or two faculty members).
