Making Schools Caring Places
(A Working with the Best Workshop)
Lawrenceville, NJ
April 18-19, 2008 from 9am-3pm
About the Workshop
In this two-day workshop Professor Noddings will discuss the ethics of care for which she is so well known. She will focus on relations, reciprocity, and moral education. The distinction between virtue-caring and relational-caring and what that difference means for teaching will be considered in some depth. As time permits, we will also explore the application of care ethics to global education, peace education, and place-based education. The workshop will also consider what schools might do to establish conditions under which caring may flourish.
