New this year: Students are invited to join faculty at this event.
Learn to develop essential end-to-end aspects of character and leadership education by hearing best-practice strategies and pedagogies, while sharing what works best at your school.
Whether starting a character and leadership education program from scratch or looking to add to an existing program, you will leave with ideas, inspiration, materials, and contacts to take back to your school. Because every school’s approach will differ, ample time will be available to discuss how to adapt the content of the sessions to your school’s specific needs.
Dr. Martin Stegemoeller is the Curriculum Coordinator for Character and Leadership Education at St. Mark’s School of Texas, where he also holds the Malcom and Minda Brachman Master Teaching Chair and has experience as the faculty sponsor of the Discipline Council, The Telos Society (student leadership club), and Philosophy Club. Utilizing classes, clubs, advisories, class meetings, visiting speakers, summer institutes, summer grants, community service, parent coffees, alumni events, in-house curricula, online resources, and travel to national conferences, Character and Leadership Education at St. Mark’s works across divisions and grade levels to teach, encourage, and support all members of its community to cultivate the habits of responsible, skillful, entrepreneurial, and sustainable leadership through service.
