Though this event will start in earnest on Tuesday, we invite participants to join us a day early in Atlanta to explore sites. Please see the agenda below.
Join Chaplains of religious and secular schools for discussion, reflection, resource-sharing and camaraderie. The theme for this event is doing meaningful chaplaincy work in pluralistic schools. As our schools grow more diverse, and some more international, are we doing the best work we can to serve students of various faith traditions? If your school has a strong background in one faith tradition, what challenges might lie in making sure that students of other traditions are cared for and spiritually nurtured?
Tuesday's Keynote Speaker will be Beth-Sarah Wright, Ph.D., Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Emory School of Medicine, Director of Enrollment Management at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School and wife of a former Chaplain / current Episcopal Bishop of Atlanta. (see her website)
Wednesday's Keynote will be Deanna Ferree Womack, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of History of Religions and Multifaith Relations at Emory University. Womack's work is committed to interreligious understanding, Christian-Muslim dialogue, and American-Arab relations. (See bio here)
