CSEE's summer institute brings together university scholars and teachers of the world's religious traditions for five days of study, discussion, activity sharing, and camaraderie.

About this Event

CSEE's institute brings together university scholars and world religion teachers from around North America for five days of study, discussion, activity sharing and camaraderie. Participants will leave with new knowledge, new ideas for the classroom, a list of resources and enduring contacts.

Presenters this year include Homayra Ziad and Alison Kysia, scholars of Islam from the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies, and Michael Friedman of Georgetown University, presenting on Buddhism and Judaism, plus more! This year’s institute will also include daily sessions on how to bring learned material into the classroom, and activity sharing time.

Overnight guests will stay in the Villanova Dormitory. Each quad apartment has four private rooms, joined by a living area, a kitchenette, and two shared baths. Rooms include linens. CSEE will accommodate requests for those who would like to be in the same quad apartment as availability allows. The Fitness Center is open for use Monday-Friday.


Travel / Directions

Villanova is located 12 miles west of Center City Philadelphia, about 20 miles from Philadelphia International Airport. The campus is easily accessible by car, commuter train, trolly or bus. For more information, please visit the Villanova maps & directions webpage.
