About the topic:

There are many faces of the Divine Feminine in Hinduism. Durga, Sita, Kali, and Lakshmi are just some of the most well known Hindu Goddesses. While Hindu philosophy affirms the underlying unity of the Divine, Hindus embrace and celebrate a polytheistic approach to worship.

This webinar will address:

  • Who the Goddess is in Hinduism.
  • How we can help students better understand the implications of Goddess worship in a predominately patriarchal society.
  • How educators can support students in making sense of the monistic affirmations present in Hindu philosophy while examining the multiple myths, rituals, and holidays associated with a multitude of goddesses.

Amy Wright Glenn, MA Teachers College, Columbia University, taught The Bhagavad Gita for over a decade in her courses on Hinduism at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. Glenn received the Dunbar Abston Jr. Chair for Teaching Excellence and is well versed in Hindu mythology and philosophy. Glenn is a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher, hospital chaplain, birth doula, and author. Having traveled and studied in India, Glenn draws upon best teaching practices -- learned through study, trial, and error -- in offering up this important webinar.
