About the topic:

The Bhagavad Gita is the most well known and well read of all Hindu scriptures. Translated to “The Lord’s Song,” The Bhagavad Gita is a deeply philosophical and soulful conversation between two characters: Krishna, representing the Divine, and Arjuna, representing the human ego. This conversation takes place at a crucial point in the narrative plot of the world’s longest epic poem, The Mahabharata.

This webinar will address

  • the central teachings of The Bhagavad Gita
  • the connections that can be made between The Bhagavad Gita and contemporary Hindu philosophy and practice
  • how teachers can best draw upon this remarkable text

Amy Wright Glenn, MA Teachers College, Columbia University, taught The Bhagavad Gita for over a decade in her courses on Hinduism at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. Glenn received the Dunbar Abston Jr. Chair for Teaching Excellence and is well versed in Hindu mythology and philosophy. Glenn is a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher, hospital chaplain, birth doula, and author. Having traveled and studied in India, Glenn draws upon best teaching practices -- learned through study, trial, and error -- in offering up this important webinar.
